Peruniak Honored, Featured in Ontario
Retired Quetico Provincial Park naturalist and author Shirley Peruniak was named to the Order of Ontario yesterday. The honor is the highest awarded by the Canadian province.
Ahead of Peruniak’s honor, the Kingston Whig-Standard published THIS profile of the 83-year-old who continued to work in the park even after her retirement in 1991.
Peruniak is the author of Quetico Park’s definitive history: An Illustrated History of Quetico Provincial Park.
